Lightly felted wool

A pattern has been foil-transfered onto untreated wool that is thereafter lightly felted by hand. A technique developed in my studio, but one that can also be translated into industrial printing or weaving. The wool is only slightly felted, so little width has been lost, but a wonderful relief, a ‘pucker’, appears. The wool stays airy and feather-light. The foil itself is dry to the touch.
