Acquisition

End of last year, the Dutch TextielMuseum purchased a piece from my archive. Always an honor!!! Four meters of fabric, consisting of three layers of synthetic fabric fused together by industrial ultrasonic quilting. A sandwich of two layers of polyester crepe voile and a knitted lace. The diamond pattern comes from a massive metal calender with a relief on it. The ultrasound that is lead through the metal heats up the fabrics where they touch the relief. It’s a beautiful way of fusing synthetic materials without adding any chemicals.

The museum has acquired several designs of mine over the years, and also commissioned work, both of which can be seen online here, or by appointment in the museum.
