Shrink effects

Being a print designer, for shrink effects I mostly work with a chemical bath, whereas weave designers will typically use special yarns with shrinking properties. But in the end, it’s mostly weaving mill that buy my designs.

For chemical shrink a type of caustic soda is used that requires a very disciplined way of working; rubber gloves at all times, a bucket with a mixture of water and acid, plus indicator paper to check the acidity of all the fluids used for this technique.
